Printed graphics are produced using large-format digital printing equipment and industrial materials. Minor variations and small imperfections are normal characteristics of the printing process and do not constitute manufacturing defects.
Color Variations
Colors in the final printed product may differ from what is seen on computer screens, mobile devices, or printed proofs.
This occurs because:
- Screens use RGB color space, while printing uses CMYK inks
- Different monitors display colors differently depending on calibration
- Lighting conditions affect how colors are perceived
- Different materials absorb ink differently
For these reasons, exact color matching cannot be guaranteed unless a specific color-matching service has been requested and approved.
Color variations between different print runs or between different materials are considered normal and acceptable.
Minor Print Imperfections
Large-format printing may occasionally produce small imperfections that are typical for industrial printing processes. These may include:
- very small dust particles
- minor banding or micro-lines
- tiny ink droplets or specks
- slight texture variations on large solid colors
Such minor imperfections are industry-standard tolerances and are not considered defects.
Large Solid Color Areas
Designs that include large solid color fills, especially dark colors such as black, navy, or deep grey, may reveal minor surface texture or printing artifacts more easily.
This is a known limitation of all large-format printing technologies.
Laminating and Finishing Variations
During lamination and finishing processes, minor variations may occur, including:
- small air bubbles
- slight silvering in laminate films
- minor edge lifting
- slight alignment tolerances
These effects may be more noticeable immediately after production and typically reduce over time as the material settles.
Minor finishing variations are within normal production tolerances.
Viewing Distance Standard
Printed signs and graphics are designed to be viewed from a normal viewing distance appropriate for the product type.
Minor imperfections that are not noticeable from a normal viewing distance are not considered defects.
Customer File Responsibility
Customers are responsible for ensuring that all submitted artwork files are correct.
This includes:
- spelling and grammar
- layout and positioning
- image resolution
- color selection
Files approved for printing are considered final approval by the customer.
Quarter Cheaper Signs is not responsible for errors in customer-supplied artwork once printing has been approved.
